NOTD: Butter London "Primrose Hill Picnic"

Thursday, 29 August 2013

Hi guys, how are you all doing? Today I have a super quick nail of the day post to share with you. I recently purchased Butter London "Primrose Hill Picnic" from Boots and I am absolutely in love this hot pink shade. It's so pretty that I cannot stop looking at my nails lol! It's definitely a shade that makes me happy. This is the perfect pink for summer but it's also a shade that I will be wearing all year round.

This nail polish is opaque in two coats and has a cream finish. However it also has a gel-like quality which I adore. The other thing I love about Butter London nail polishes is that they are a 3 free company meaning they do not use harmful ingredients and their lacquers do not contain Formaldehyde, Toluene and DBP which is always a plus!

Summer Wishlist
Hi guys, today's post is showing you all the things I am currently lusting over.

Nars Blush In Taj Mahal
I had this blush previously in my collection but unfortunately it fell and shattered so naturally I need it back in my life and it's definitely time to pick up a new one. This is a bright burnt orange shade with shimmer that looks amazing on my skin tone. It just brightens up my skin and creates a gorgeous glow on the cheeks. Definitely a must-have for women of colour!

Nails Inc in Portabello
Any one else obsessed with coral nail polishes? I mean how pretty is this shade? I technically don't need another nail polish but this shade has got my name written all over it.
Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac Clutch
Ahhh how gorgeous is this bag?  I love this vibrant purple shade, perfect for adding a pop of colour to an outfit. I l like the size of this bag because it will definitely make me downsize what I carry and only take the essentials because normally I carry everything but the kitchen sink lol! I also love how versatile this bag is because it has a removable strap so you can carry it as a clutch too.

Clinique Chubby Stick in Plushest Punch
This is a pretty raspberry pink shade that is right up my street. This is the only product I've purchased of my wishlist and I can't wait to compare it with the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains.

 Stella & Dot Serpent Bangle
I fallen in love with Stella and Dot jewellery and I am totally obsessed with this vintage inspired serpent bangle. This looks great on it's own or layered with other bracelets for a arm candy party.

Turquoise Bubble Necklace
I have been eyeing this for a while now. This is a great accessory to brighten up an outfit and instantly make it look dressy. These bubble necklaces come in a variety of colours but the turquoise one is by far my favourite.

What's on your wishlist? Let me know in the comments.

My top 5 Summer nail polishes.

Wednesday, 24 July 2013

Hi guys, since Summer has well and truly kicked in I thought it's the perfect time to do a  post on my top 5 nail polishes for summer. It was really hard to narrow it down to just 5 so let's get started and see which nail polishes made the cut!

Essie Mint Candy Apple  - My  favourite and the shade that started my love for mint colours. I absolutely  love this colour and it is the most perfect mint shade you'll ever see! Definitely a cult favourite amongst nail lovers and a must-have for me. This is all also one of the few Essie colours that I own that is easy to apply and opaque in two coats. Mint Candy Apple looks great all year round and is a shade that suits all skin-tones. If you don't own this shade how have you coped without it? Get it in your life now lol!

Essie Cute as a Button-  A beautiful coral-pink shade that is the epitome of summer! It's a fun shade that you won't stop wearing all summer long and is the perfect mani and pedi colour. The formula isn't the best with it being runny but I don't mind the extra effort because the colour is just too darn pretty and who can resist a good coral nail polish? Certainly not me! Definitely a summer staple.

Essie Splash of Grenadine - This is a pretty pink/purple shade that looks great on the nails but just as equally nice on the toes. It's a very soft and feminine shade that works well all year round. This is another Essie nail polish that is easy to apply, two coats does the trick and then you're good to go! It dries to a glossy finish so you don't need to bother with a top coat which is good because I haven't found a great one yet.

Barry M Gelly Hi- Shine Nail Paint in Grapefruit- Grapefruit is a bright almost neon pink that looks super pretty on the nails. I just love this bright pink shade because it's the perfect girly nail colour! It has a glossy finish so you can skip the top coat. However It is gloopy and comes out a bit thick but at £3.99 at least it doesn't break the bank!

Essie In The Cab-ana  -This is a new shade that was released for the Resort 2013 Collection. A bright aqua blue colour that reminds me of a swimming pool! The most eye-catching out of the bunch and the perfect holiday colour. It's such a stunning shade that you will not be able to stop staring at your nails and if you love your bright blue shades then this is right up your street!

So that was my nail polish picks for Summer! What are your favourites?

Review: Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter In Wild Watermelon

Tuesday, 16 July 2013

Recently I have been obsessed with the Revlon Lip Butter in the shade "Wild Watermelon", a gorgeous      coral-red shade that at the moment is my go-to colour for summer!  Wild Watermelon is one of the new  limited edition shades that was released for spring/summer alongside  Juicy Papaya, Sorbet and Pink  Lemonade. Despite it looking shockingly bright it is a wearable colour because it's semi-sheer and not a
full  on opaque red,so it's great for someone who wants to rock a red lip.

The lip butters are a mix of a lipstick and a lip balm with the shine of a gloss which is my kind of formula! The consistency is creamy so it glides easily on the lips. The staying power isn't amazing and I didn't expect it to be considering the formulation however, I don't mind whipping it out to reapply every now and again.I adore the Chanel-esque packaging with the quilted design making it look oh so chic! It's also great that the cap is clear so that you can see the colour of the lip butter.

The only downside is that in the heat the lip butter melts easily and it actually broke off in a large chunk after a couple of swatches so that was disappointing to say the least so just be careful about that but overall I love this lip butter and may pick up Sorbet next as it's calling my name.

Have you tried any of the new Revlon Lip Butters? What's your thoughts?

Essie Resort 2013 Collection

Sunday, 23 June 2013

I think you all know by now that I lurve me some Essie nail polishes and when I saw the swatches of the Resort 2013 Collection, I instantly fell in LOVE with the shade In The Cab-ana. I was ready to run out and purchase it only to discover that this collection is not being stocked in Boots or Superdrug. So then I hit up Beauty Bay and saw that they were selling a mini set of the nail polishes for £10.99 which I think is a great deal! I think mini sized nail polishes is the way to go because I am never going to use up a full sized polish.

Let's take a minute and admire how pretty these nail polishes look!

In The Cab-ana is my favourite colour out the four. I just cannot resist bright aqua blue shades and
this is the ultimate summer colour! This gorgeous shade is the perfect accessory to summer outfits and is the must-have shade in the collection for me. Now onto First timer I never thought that I'll own a green nail polish but this a fresh wearable green that will be gracing my nails very soon. Under where is a pretty lilac colour and at first glance reminded me of Splash Of Grenadine, however this colour is a lot  more lighter.Nothing says summer like a bright coral shade and Come Here will look amazing on both nails and toes and it will definitely be one of my summer staple colours.

Have you picked up any of these nail polishes? Which one has caught your eye?

Oops I Splurged Again!

Tuesday, 11 June 2013

Hi everyone!

I went a bit crazy with the online shopping again. I really need to do something about that. While I think of a way to do that, here is what I bought. So my first stop was Cult Beauty because I desperately needed an oil for my super dry skin. I've heard great things about the Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil so I popped it in my online basket and I hope it will work wonders on my skin. Miranda Kerr is also a fan of Rosehip oil so I will be delighted if I wake up with glowing skin like hers.

Then I hit beauty Expert. I was just browsing the site, not expecting to buy anything and then I saw that they were doing a 3 for 2 on Essie nail polishes so I knew I couldn't pass that up and I had to take advantage of this great deal lol!  Beauty Expert also stock Butter London lacquers so I obviously couldn't resist Teddy Girl ,the milky pink shade I've wanted for ages and now I finally have it I am disappointed with the formula because it's so streaky! It took three coats to reach full opacity, 3 coats? Aint nobody got time for that ! Whilst I am disappointed with the formula I still adore the colour and I posted a notd pic on Instagram If you want to see how it looks on my nails.

Next into the basket was Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush in Dare. I saw a post from Hafsa from Muslimah Beauty raving about this colour so I knew I had to have it! I love her blog and anything she recommends I know it's going to be great! I am excited to try this pretty blush and I will let you know my thoughts on it soon. Lip balm to me is a "can't live without product". Nuxe Reve de Miel was all the rage last year and every blogger known to man was talking about this product. I've tried it and I ....LOVE  it!! It's incredibly moisturising and nourishing on the lips!

Lastly the three beautiful Essie nail polishes, Knockout Pout, Van D Go and Watermelon.I went a bit nail polish crazy but hey you can never have too many nail polishes right? However these nail lacquers are the old formula with the old brush which means it's a STREAKY mess! "cries". So the formula is awful and next time I am just going to stick to the Essie polishes from the diffusion line at Superdrug or Boots. You would think that will be it on the nail polish front but I also bought the Essie Resort 2013 collection from BeautyBay. Ooops!

Have you tried any of these products? What have you purchased recently?

Products I am loving right now #2

Friday, 7 June 2013

Hi everyone! How are you all doing? It's the weekeend- whooo hooo!! Okay I will try and contain my excitement and share with you guys the products I have been loving  recently so lets get started.

Soap &Glory "The Scrub of your life"
First of all this scrub smells ah-mazing! So fresh and fruity. This is a foaming scrub and the scrubbing particles are not harsh and it exfoliates really well and afterwards my skin is left feeling so incredibly soft and smooth. I love the pink packaging, it's just so pretty and girly.

Thierry Mugler- Angel perfume
Thierry Mugler Angel is an iconic scent which I have rediscovered again and fallen back in love with it. It is a winter scent but that hasn't stopped me using it recently. I always get compliments when I wear this perfume which blows both my sister's minds because they hate it with a passion lol!  This is definitely a love or hate perfume but I absolutely adore it. I am not great at describing scents but some of the notes include chocolate, caramel, vanilla, sandalwood and pitchuoli. It's a strong scent and a little bit goes a long way which is why I only spray it once and that's enough for me otherwise it can get overpowering really quickly.

Essie Cute as a button
Essie's cute as a button is a beautiful coral-pink shade that screams summer! It's the perfect mani/pedi colour and I am currently wearing it on my toes right now. I love how bright and vibrant this is and it's just a nice pop of colour on the nails.

YSL Shocking Mascara
One of the things I like about this YSL Shocking Mascara is that it lengthens my lashes like no other! It is also one of the blackest black mascaras I've ever tried however it is also incredibly clumpy and I am not a fan of the clumpy look! So to limit it's clumpiness I wipe the access mascara on a clean piece of tissue and take my time applying the mascara. Oh and how luxe is the packaging? It is just so beautiful with the gold tube and embossed logo.

Nars blush In Torrid.
Torrid is a  pretty blend of pink and coral with golden shimmer and I just lurve using this blush. It creates a gorgeous glow to my cheeks and instantly brightens up my complexion. At the moment Torrid is the perfect everyday blush for me  It is finely milled, blends easily and is pigmented! What's not to love?

Review: Dior Addict Extreme Lipstick In Bellissima

Saturday, 1 June 2013

The Spring/Summer months is the time of the year when I bust out a bright lip and the lipstick that has been gracing my lips recently is Dior Addict Extreme Lipstick in Bellissima. It's a pretty red shade which flatters and brightens my complexion. When I swatch it and apply it to my lips it's more of a red-berry colour. I purchased this lipstick last year, when I splurged at the Dior counter and fell in love with the vibrant colours and creamy formulas. Alongside Bellisima I also purchased Paparazzi a beautiful berry shade that instantly became a staple in my collection and was my go-to lipstick for the Autumn and Winter months. The two Dior lipsticks were a VERY expensive splurge, but what I can say?  I lurve me some Dior!

One of my favourite things about this lipstick is the creamy formula. This lippie applies smoothly and glides on like a dream. It's so moisturising which is my kind of lipstick. I love how light-weight it feels on the lips. I am tempted to buy another shade but I think I will resist because I already went a bit mad buying two but I think it's worth it. The lipstick lasted up to 4 hours on me which I think is fine with lipsticks like this with a  balmy texture. Bellisima is semi- pigmented as I can see some of my natural lip colour showing through. As the lipstick wears off, it leaves behind a lovely stain. For the rest of my makeup I just keep it simple with tinted moisturiser, lashings of mascara and I am good to go!

The packaging is luxurious and the vibrant black casing is a classic and sleek style, you would  expect from Dior. I feel very glamorous when I pop this out to reapply lol!

So overall I love the lipstick and if you happen to be casually passing a Dior counter, swatch it and see what you think? Have you tried any of the Dior Addict Extreme Lipsticks?  Which one is your fave?

NOTD: Butter London "Slapper"

Tuesday, 21 May 2013

Hi everyone! I hope you all are having a great start to the week!

So ever since I purchased Butter London's " Slapper" I've been itching to paint my nails with it. I love the shade, it's a beautiful teal colour that looks amazing on the nails. You will have to excuse the bad application though haha! It is a cream finish which I adore!  I love how bright and vibrant this is,which makes it the ultimate summer shade! It turns out though that this nail polish is so difficult to photograph. I couldn't quite capture the true colour accurately on my little old camera and It's showing up more blue than green.

The consistency was a bit runny on the first coat but all it needed it was a second coat to be opaque.
This nail polish is definitely a conversation starter because it's such a unique colour and I don't have a shade like this in my collection. My sisters have also been loving this lacquer and rocking it all week.

This nail polish isn't cheap at £12  but I love Butter London polishes and this was a must-have shade for me. I think it's great that Butter London are a 3 free company meaning that they don't include harmful ingredients like Formaldehyde, Toluene and  DBP in their nail lacquers. There is a couple more colours that I want to get my hands on like Fiver,Teddy Girl and Macbeth, but I guess I will have to try and avoid Boots for awhile which is going to be a big challenge lol!

What is your favourite Butter London polish?  Will you be rocking a bright and bold shade this spring/summer?

Mini Beauty Haul

Sunday, 12 May 2013

Hi guys, I hope you all had a great weekend! So I have been doing a little bit of shopping and  have a haul for you  today mainly consisting of nail polish but who doesn't love a good nail polish haul?

Out of all the nail polishes I purchased Butter London's Slapper is my favourite! This lacquer has been on my "to buy" list for the longest time! I can't wait to paint my nails with this soon and do a nail of the day post. It's just the most beautiful bright teal shade! I know this is going to be my go-to colour for spring/summer.There are so many other amazing shades that I want to pick up but I am trying to resist......for now! Oh and how great is it that Butter London is available at Boots now?

I am always drawn to the Essie stand as soon as I enter Boots or Superdrug and last week I purchased Splash Of Grenadine which is a pretty pink/purple shade that I have been rocking all week. I don't have a colour like this in my collection so I was excited to pick it up. It applied really smoothly and was opaque in two coats and lasted three days without chipping. The Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paints have had a lot of hype surrounding them so along with Grapefruit, I also picked up Greenberry. A stunning  aqua green shade that will give a pop of colour to any outfit. All the colours in this line are gorgeous and I will definitely be back for more.

I added Rimmel's Sundowner nail polish in my basket last minute and just fell in love with this super bright orange-red shade. It just screams summer and is the perfect manicure and pedicure colour. The newest addition to my small Revlon lip butter collection is Wild Watermelon. A pretty pink- coral colour that will be gracing my lips very soon. I've heard people say that Sleek's blushes are really good so while I was browsing the aisles at Superdrug I decided to pick up Pomegranate. A  beautiful pink-berry shade with shimmer that will easily become my everyday blush colour and at £4.49 it doesn't break the bank!

Products I have been loving

Friday, 3 May 2013

Hi guys,  so today I am going to talking about the five products I have been loving recently so let's get into it.

My hands have been so dry lately and I wanted to inject some much needed moisture back into them. My other hand cream wasn't cutting it so I headed over to L'Occitane, last friday and purchased their famous Shea Butter Hand Cream. Everyone talks about this cream and it's always winning awards so I wanted to try it for myself. Also this hand cream is sold every 3 seconds! Impressive right? So now I finally have it and I am absolutely in love with it!I have to say this is one of the best hand creams I have ever used! It's so moisturising and my hands are left feeling super soft.

I just adore this Chanel lipstick! Bonheur is a gorgeous red-violet colour with silver sparkles that  looks great on. Not only is it a stunning vibrant shade but the formula is also amazing! It glides on so effortlessly and just applies like a dream. I adore the balmy texture and how lightweight it feels on the lips. However because of that balmy texture this lippie doesn't last long on me only 1 to 2 hours. I don't mind reapplying but it would be great if the lasting power was better. The Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks are a sheer formula although Bonheur is pigmented and has good colour pay off. I know it's gonna be my go-to lipstick this summer. Also how beautiful is Chanel's packaging? It just exudes glamour.

I won't talk about this blush a lot because I have done a review  on it and I know Nars Exhibit A blush looks scary in the pan but it's actually quite wearable if you use a light hand. You can look a bit crazy if you use too much so you have to be gentle with the application. Now I have the technique down, this blush gives me a gorgeous natural glow to my dark skin. If you are a women of colour this blush is a must-have because it compliments our skin tones really well. I use my MAC 116 brush to apply the blush and I use light strokes and then I blend it out a lot so it looks natural.

Mac Raizin Blush is an oldie but a goodie. It is a  matte reddish brown colour that gives a natural flush to my cheeks and just looks good on my dark skin tone. I think this was my first ever MAC blush and I still really love using it. I don't buy Mac blushes anymore, I have moved on to Nars but this is another must-have blush for darker skin tone beauties. What I love about this blush is that it works with a variety of different makeup looks and is just very versatile because it can be used as a contour colour as well as a crease colour when applying eyeshadows. It's very pigmented and applies smoothly on the cheeks. I use my Mac 116  blush and it just deposits the right amount of blush onto the cheeks.

This Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine nail polish in the colour Grapefruit is a recent purchase from Boots and is the nail lacquer that is gracing my nails at the moment. I love the bright neon pink shade so much I can't stop looking at my nails.I also love the high-shine finish. The consistency is quite thick and comes out a bit gloopy but this is still a bargain at £3.99.I also purchased Greenberry which is a gorgeous aqua green shade and I'm really excited to try that too. I am still on the hunt for a good top coat, so if anyone can recommend me one that will be great.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I will back soon with a haul.

Empties #1

Tuesday, 23 April 2013

I love when I finish  products because it's means I have actually used up all the products I have invested my money on and it makes room for new purchases! Also I can decide what product is worth repurchasing or not. I wish I could get through  makeup as quickly as skincare and bodycare items though.

I loved using this Elemis Frangipani Monoi Body Oil. I use this after bathing on damp skin and afterwards I am left with silky soft and smooth skin. I love the gorgeous aroma of coconut and frangipani. This oil is so luxurious and it's a real pamper treat. It's moisturizing without being greasy and it sinks into the skin quickly. After application my skin has a gorgeous glow. The oil has to be warmed up first before it will come out of the bottle. So I place the bottle in a bowl of warm water and after a couple minutes or so it melts into a beautiful silky oil. I purchased this in an elemis kit  from John Lewis so I would only repurchase if it was in a set at it works out to be better value.

Elemis Pro-collagen Marine Cream is a cult moisturiser. I've heard that this cream is sold every two minutes around the world! It has a lightweight gel-cream consistency which I though may not hydrate my skin , however I was surprised because it was moisturising enough for my dry skin. I enjoyed using this cream because it made my skin soft and smooth. It absorbed into the skin nicely and isn't greasy.
This moisturiser has a strong scent, which I didn't mind and actually got used to the scent as I used it more and more. I can't vouch for the anti-aging properties but it is a great moisturiser. However I am not going to run out and purchase because this 30ml cream retails at £49.56. So it's crazy expensive and I am glad I got it in the kit otherwise I probably wouldn't have tried it at that insane price.

One of the main reason's I purchased this body conditioner is that it is enriched with argan oil. And I love me some Argan oil! You would use this like a hair conditioner, but for your body. So this is my last step before I come out of the bath. I slather this all over my body and then I rinse off . This product is meant to replace your need of applying body lotion but I still like to use a lotion because I have dry skin. Aside from the argan oil it has some great ingredients like cocoa butter, brazil nut oil, almond oil and shea butter. My skin feels so soft and moisturised afterwards. It has a very strong scent of roses which I don't like but I like the results of it making my skin so soft that I continued to use it. So I won't repurchase this product because at £15.50 it's pricey and the scent is so powerful.

I was so excited to try this L'Occitane Ultra Rich Face Cream. However I was disappointed in this moisturiser because it irritated my skin big time! Although this is for people with dry skin, I think it was too heavy and rich for my skin. This is a very thick cream and it just overloaded my skin. It's also heavily  fragranced .I hate when products don't live up to the hype especially when it's so expensive. I purchased this for £30 so it was a big splurge. I was determined to get my money's worth so my sister and I used it as a hand cream. There is still product left in the tub but we had enough of the scent that we stopped using it. Next time I need a moisturiser, I am going to ask for a sample first. I am not totally put off by the brand though  and I would like to try their Almond Supple Skin Oil because I've heard great things about that product.

What products have you used up recently?

My Mini Essie Collection

Wednesday, 10 April 2013

Behold the biggest Essie collection you will ever see.....not....I've only got 4! Its a crying shame I know! But give me time I'm working on expanding it. Until then I will share the four I have in my collection. I really like Essie polishes, the colour range is amazing and the cute white lid looks so chic and clean. I also love that Essie is available in Boots and Superdrug now but at £7.99 a bottle I don't love the price.

Essie Bahama Mama is a deep plum colour. This was the shade to rock in autumn and winter. This colour looks very chic and sophisticated on the nails. This is my most worn polish. Its my go-to polish whenever I am indecisive about what shade to rock. I also read somewhere that Rosie Fortescue from Made In Chelsea loves this polish also so that's cool to know if you are a fan of her.
So Essie's Mint Candy Apple is a cult favourite amongst nail lovers. Its one of the most raved about nail lacquers on blogs and on YouTube. It's not hard to see why because it's the most gorgeous mint pastel green colour ever! This is my all time favourite nail polish, and its a must-have for spring! It is a cream formula and is opaque in two coats.

Cute As A Button is another pretty colour that screams Spring. The shade is a perfect pinky coral colour and I absolutely adore this shade. I love how vibrant it is and is also a great pedicure colour. It's such a fun spring and summer shade that pops on the nails.
Fiji is another cult favourite and while I love the milky pink shade, the consistency is streaky and its hard to apply. However when you have the application down it looks very chic and understated on the nails. Butter London has a shade in their collection called Teddy Girl which is a similar colour to Fiji which is on my wish-list to pick up soon.

Do you love Essie's nail polishes? Which is your must-have shade?

Review: Revlon Colorburst lip Butter in Raspberry Pie

Saturday, 30 March 2013

Hi everyone,

I can't believe it's taken me this long to buy the Revlon lip butters considering these products came out last year! When the lip butters first hit the shelves,I wasn't really impressed with the shade selection and the only colour that stood out to me was Raspberry pie so I am glad I finally picked it up. The lip butters are a combination of a lipstick and a lip balm. First of all I love the shade it's a beautiful raspberry pink. The colour pay off is amazing because it is so opaque, which I absolutely love! The lip butter applies smoothly and is moisturising.

This shade compliments dark skin complexions really well so if you are women of colour, definitely check this colour out. I really like the Chanel inspired quilted packaging. I also think that's its cool that you are able to see the colour of the lip butter because of the clear caps which just makes it easier for everyone to find the shade they want.

There a couple of shades I want to get my hands on especially Red Velvet but is only available in the US so hopefully Revlon will bring that shade to the UK. The Lip Butters are available at Boots and Superdrug and are priced at £7.99. I do think that the price tag is a bit expensive for a high street/drug store product but when I bought it, it was £5.00 because Revlon had a deal on. So have you tried the Revlon Lip Butters? What do you think?

Butter London Nail Of The Day

Sunday, 10 March 2013

Hi everyone,

This is my first nail of the day post and I am excited to show you guys this polish. Butter London's Come To Bed Red is a beautiful classic red that will suit any skin tone. It is such a vibrant shade and I love how shiny and bright it is. My favourite thing about this nail polish is the formula and consistency because it so smooth and easy to apply unlike some Essie shades. It is opaque in one coat which is great because it shows how pigmented the shade is. I normally like the names in the Butter London collection which are really funny and quirky however I am not a fan of this particular name.

This polish did chip on the second day but I was washing the dishes and cooking so I guess that's understandable. Also I never wear a top coat so it's my own fault. I  may invest in the Butter London's one but If you have any other good recommendations for top coats do let me know.

Butter London polishes retail for £12 which is expensive but because Butter London are a 3 free company which means the polishes don't contain Formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP that's what  makes them different to other brands so that's how I justify buying these polishes. As well as the Formula and the consistency being amazing! So I think they are worth the price tag and the next one on my list is Slapper which is a gorgeous bright teal shade which is so perfect for spring and summer.

Have you tried any Butter London nail polishes?

Boots Mini Haul

Sunday, 24 February 2013

So I did a little order at Boots and bought a couple of beauty products that I have wanted to buy for awhile and I am going to show you guys what I purchased. I will just be telling you my initial  impression because I haven't used some of the products long enough to do a full review yet.

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick In Plum
I have wanted to try these lipsticks for absolute ages ever since Michele1218 talked about it on one of her YouTube videos. First of all I really like the shade but the scent of this lipstick puts me off. I can't describe the scent but it has a really weird smell almost like it has gone off. It's such a shame because I adore the shade but I don't see me rocking this lipstick any time soon .But seen as I purchased for £5 I am not too disappointed.
I also got the Revlon Colorburst Lipstick In Fuschia which is a beautiful bright fuschia shade which is quite similar to Mac girl about town, which I haven't tried but always wanted too. I really like the Chanel- esque quilted packaging, which looks very chic. This lipstick also has a smell but it is not as strong as the plum shade so I can handle wearing this. Have you guys tried these Revlon lipsticks? Does your Revlon lippie have a funny smell?

Revlon colorburst Lip Butter
I know you guys must be thinking you only bought this lip butter recently? I know this is another product I am late on buying but when the lip butters first hit the shelves I wasn't that excited despite the hype surrounding them. But I am glad I finally purchased it in the colour Raspberry pie, which is a pretty raspberry pink shade. I have worn this a couple of times and I love the colour pay off because it is so opaque. So keep an eye out on a review of the raspberry lip butter coming soon.

Out of all the products I purchased I was really excited to buy hydraluron because I have read excellent reviews about it. I have wanted to try to this ever since Caroline Hirons posted about that this on her blog and put it in her hall of fame after three days! Caroline hirons is a beauty expert and anything she recommends, I know it's going be amazing! I love reading her blog for skincare advice and reviews on products. So Hydraluron is basically a hydration serum which has hyaluronic acid and is supposed to " increase skin hydration from below the surface and hold up to 1,000 times it's weight in water". I am going to do a full review on this product when I have been using this for a bit longer but so far so good!

Charles Worthington Intense Rescue Balm
I first heard about this balm from Fleurdeforce on YouTube and she was saying how much she loves it and I was intrigued and wanted to try it for myself. Basically this is a hair mask and it is a solid balm formula, which turns into an oil when rubbed between your hands. You are then meant to apply it to your hair either 20 minutes before you shampoo or leave it overnight and then wash your hair. You are meant to use it once a week and it  promises to condition and nourish your hair. This retails for £16.99 but I got on offer for £11.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain.
Now I have heard a lot about this lip stains and I know I am late to the party on this product however I am excited to report back and tell you guys what I think. I bought the colour Crush which is a beautiful deep plum colour. And at the moment I can't get enough of these berry and plum shades, which is also on trend for the winter season. I love this lip stain because it is so easy to use, opaque has a nice minty scent and I definitely want to pick up another shade.

So have you been shopping at boots? What do you think of these products?

Nars Exhbit A Blush Review

Sunday, 17 February 2013

This is my first blog post talking about my love of beauty products.I have a passion for beauty and I absolutely love reading blogs so I thought it's was about time to start my own blog. So today I am going to be talking about Nars blush in Exhibit A.

I don't wear Exhibit A as often as I should but I definitely need to start wearing it more because it is a beautiful matte red blush that warms up the skin beautifully. I first heard about this from Scandalous Beauty on YouTube and she was raving about how great it is and how it is a must have blush for women of colour (WOC). She was right I think all women of colour need to own this as it suits our skin tones really well, as well as giving a healthy glow to the cheeks. When I wear this blush it instantly brightens and wakes up my skin which I absolutely love. Lighter skin tones can also pull this off, you just need to use a light hand and be gentle with application.

It has a soft texture and blends easily on to the cheeks. This is a very pigmented blush therefore you don't need a lot.  I like the sleek look of the Nars packaging, however it can get dirty easily if you are not careful. Also I wish the lid was transparent so I can see the colour straight away because I have a few Nars products so it would be nice to identify the colour quicker.

It retails for £21.00 which is pricey but if a product performs I don't mind paying a bit more for it and this blush is totally worth it. It will also last for a long time because remember a little bit goes a long way. If this Nars blush is totally out of your price range,Sleek has a similar blush to Exhibit A called Bonfire which is in a blush palette called Flame so check that out instead.

Have you tried any Nars blushes? What do you think of Exhibit A?
